Graham Street Market Festival 2008

Thanks for the support from the general public, Graham Street Market Festival was sucessfully held for the first time in 2007 and received postive feedback. In 15-16 Nov 2008, Graham Street Market Festival is back! In face of the demolish of the market and the economic tsunami, we hope the public could treasure the happiness and simple life of cooking and having meals at home with family through this year’s events.

Located in the middle of Central, Graham Street Market is one of the Hong Kong’s oldest wet market. It preserves the life style of old Hong Kong with close relationship among neighbourhood as wet market is one of the place for them to gather. Our main theme this year is to fight against the economic tsunami by simple meals at home.

We hope that the Government and URA could preserve the low density of the area and amend their current plan to preserve the wet market as well as the community.

Organized by The Conservancy Association Centre for Heritage, co-organized by SEE Network and the Central and Western District Concern Group. The Graham Street Market Festival 2008 consists of exhibitions, seminars, forums, guided tours, Flea Market, etc.
